Globalization did increase trade between the countries and the material for wooden packaging was a distribution channel of harmful organisms, so some phytosanitary measures were introduced to prevent economic and environmental problems to forests.

IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) chose a treatment prior to shipment, on which the international standard ISPM is based: the raw wood packaging must be treated (HT heat treatment) and certified with the mark IPPC/FAO.

Imballaggi Industriali has immediately adopted the ISPM standard: since 2006 we are entitled to the production of packaging under ISPM/15 and we can mark them with the FITOK logo.
